The University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital is dedicated to excellence in graduate medical education. Our graduate medical education (GME) and undergraduate medical education (UME) programs are designed to cultivate caring, compassionate and skilled pediatric physicians who become lifelong learners and effective advocates capable of providing the highest level of medical care to their patients.
In addition to our Pediatric Residency Training Program, the Department of Pediatrics houses twelve (12) ACGME-Accredited Pediatric Fellowship Training Programs and is proud to host the exceptional students from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and Students, Residents, and Fellows from outside Institutions.
Due to COVID-19, we are not accepting applications for visiting medical student/resident/fellow rotations during the 2020-2021 academic year, but look forward to hosting visiting trainees when it is safe to do so in the future. Additionally, all activities for the AY21 interview season for our training programs will be conducted virtually.
The Pediatric Residency Training Program at the University of Chicago is dedicated to training the next generation of leaders in pediatric health care.
We provide exemplary training that combines both inpatient and outpatient experiences, caring for some of the country’s most medically complex and challenging patients. Our location on the campus of the University of Chicago affords our residents the opportunity to engage with thought leaders across specialties, including economics, law, medical ethics, and public policy. Our graduates pursue careers in primary care, subspecialty pediatrics, child advocacy, and academic medicine.
The ACGME-Accredited Pediatric Fellowship Programs at the University of Chicago are dedicated to providing our trainees with exposure to a wide array of common and rare clinical diagnoses, as well as mentoring them to develop critical thinking skills and to ask questions that will propel pediatric medicine into the future. We strive to provide state-of-the-art, evidenced-based clinical care and to treat all patients with compassion and kindness.
