Objectives

  • Appreciate the critical role of commensal bacteria in regulating key physiological processes.
  • Recognize that environmentally induced changes in commensal bacterial communities are linkes to the increasing prevalence of complex immune-mediated disease.
  • Understand how indigenous bacterial communities interact with the innate and adaptive immune system to inform the development of novel live biotherapeutic approaches to prevent or treat food allergy.
