Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship

Welcome to the University of Chicago Fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology.  Open to graduates of pediatric residency training programs, we offer a 3-year training program accredited by the ACGME.  The goal of our program is to train pediatricians in the clinical discipline of Pedatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition and to prepare them for an independent career in an academic setting.

Our Mission

In alignment with the University of Chicago’s mission, the Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship Program strives to provide exceptional health care in a compassionate and well-rounded manner. We strive to:

- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, both inpatient and outpatient

- Promote educational initiatives and cutting-edge research projects, both basic and translational, among faculty and fellows in the area of their interest

- Encourage collaboration within the larger University of Chicago community, including adult specialty colleagues and clinical research teams among others

- Build leaders in the field, starting with the individualized learning initiative of each of our fellows, encouraging comprehensive training in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and medicine

Program AIMS

  1. To provide exceptional training, education, and mentorship to our trainees in order to help them develop into successful physician-scientists who will advance the field of pediatric gastroenterology and provide compassionate and effective clinical care.
  2. To develop quality improvement projects that will help in improving the level of care provided to patients as well as spearhead transformation of healthcare delivery.
