How to Apply

Application Information:

We invite you to learn more about our program, meet our faculty, fellows, and staff and explore our hospital using the links below, but nothing replaces an actual visit. We participate in the National Residency Matching Program as part of the Pediatric Subspecialties Fall Match.  All applications must be submitted through ERAS.

To be eligible for the Fellowship Program, the candidate must have an MD/DO degree and the qualifications to obtain a license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois. The candidate must be a Resident in Pediatrics at the PL-2 level or higher at an ACGME accredited program or have completed this training. Upon completion of a Pediatric Residency Program, the candidate must be eligible to take board examinations in Pediatrics offered by the American Board of Pediatrics.

The University of Chicago is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.  We encourage application from under-represented minorities.  Because the majority of our trainees are supported through the National Institutes of Health Training Grant, applicants must either be United States citizens, permanent residents, or hold a J1 visa.  H1-B visa holdres who are highly qualified applicants with previous research experience who can be supported by other mechanisms may be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Applications must include:

  • ERAS application form
  • CV
  • Personal statement
  • Passport-size photo
  • Transcript
  • USMLE or COMLEX scores
  • Three letters of recommendation from medical faculty that are familiar with the candidate’s work in pediatrics and/or research. One letter must be from the Pediatric Residency Program Director.
